Trusted in Recruitment

A client of ours approached us after talking to a number of recruitment companies seeking support to locate specific skills within the aviation maintenance sector for an old aircraft type, only used by a couple of companies worldwide. The opportunity occurred during a positive time for the aviation market, thus resulting in many possibilities for engineers to transition the new aircraft types. Before working with Resource Group, the client struggled to get success with the requirement. Many businesses had claimed it was an impossible task however if the remuneration was boosted there may be a possibility. Resource Group is proud at providing expert solutions, therefore we worked closely with the client and provided guidance on the following approach. We suggested that the client created a pool of candidates which would also result in engineers building a profile in real-time. This would then enable the client to match the expectations of the engineers during the process. The approach provided interesting data such as many individuals with the skillset required were seeking to move to a sunny location during the summer and were able to pause their contracts for 4-6 months. As we continued to process the pool of candidates, we made deeper investigations which resulted in us working with the client to make the offer more attractive to the candidates by considering relocation with a partner or family. Within the company perspective, they were given facts on to the status of these skills instead of being inflexible thus resolving the problem. This approach facilitated the assessment of a future BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) approach for a full recruitment solution outsourced from the client.

Swiss-based Aviation Recruitment Consultancy

The inauguration of the Nomad Technic’s facility in 2018, resulted in the need for a Swiss-based aviation recruitment consultancy to support the recruitment of a growing team and provide a Swiss-approved labour lease framework. Resource Group was initially engaged to recruit various team members on a permanent basis. Following this success, Resource Group was called upon to be Nomad’s first-choice supplier for temporary aircraft maintenance staff, and to this day we continue to supply Nomad with their weekly requirements for skilled aircraft technicians and licensed engineers to complement their staff and operations. Through our longevity in the Swiss market and our access to local labour pools, coupled with our understanding of local Swiss labour lease regulations, we have been able to continually guide and advise Nomad with their temporary labour supply. “We are happy to have Resource Group as our first-choice onsite provider of our aircraft maintenance contractor workforce. They are able to react quickly to our requirements and supply high-quality technical skills at short notice whilst guaranteeing excellent service levels – the onsite management they provide is the extra touch both we and their contractors all appreciate”. Payroll and Outsourcing

Our international presence has made Resource Group a trustworthy company for partners who need support in payroll and outsourcing solutions. One of our clients would sign contracts for 6 to 12 months relying on a model, where HQ positioned crews, maintenance, and other personnel. This approach was not cost-efficient, and the client needed to comply with local regulations therefore it was necessary to base some personnel locally. Further complexity that the client faced, was to coordinate employment in approximately 8 countries from HQ to fill contracts that could run for years. With our global footprint, wide range of business licenses, accreditations and active compliant payroll solutions, the client decided that we were the best partner to resolve their business complexities. As a go-to strategic partner, we had provided one touchpoint which would work with the client’s operations department ensuring efficiency and compliance were met. Shortly after working together, positive changes were being seen such as cost savings on transport and accommodation for personnel. More recently, Covid-19 has changed the way organisations operate and how employees work. Due to the growing relationship between the client and Resource Group, we were able to implement solutions as a response to the current market situation.

Dassault Falcon 7x Aircraft Modification

As part of an ongoing relationship with one of our MRO clients, Resource Group was asked to provide a ROM proposal to plan, manage and carry out a key modification to a Dassault Falcon 7x aircraft for a fixed price and timescale. This modification involved the retrofit of centre wing tank access panels as per Service Bulletin 338-R1. This SB was issued by Dassault in order to better facilitate wing tank access for future inspections and cleanings in the case of contamination. Upon receipt of the Service Bulletin, we leveraged the technical knowledge of key internal employees who are ex-industry professionals in order to put together a personnel/cost/time proposal that was sent to the client. Using this task-specific knowledge of our specialist meant that our proposal was more accurate with regards to timescale and personnel requirements and allowed us to propose the most competitive price, meaning our proposal was accepted and we were given the green light to proceed.Following acceptance of the proposal, our recruitment team was able to identify several known contractors within our network with existing knowledge and experience of this service bulletin. The selected contractors were then vetted by our recruitment teams to ensure that they had the necessary currency and certifications in place. Subsequently, their profiles, complete with certification packages, were forwarded to our client's quality department for final approval; a process that was swift thanks to the thorough checks performed by our recruitment team. After approval, the contracting team was deployed to our client's site, where they were met by one of our senior recruiters who acted as an onsite technical representative for the duration of the project. The team then carried out the Service Bulletin within the timescales provided in the initial proposal and incurred zero cost overruns. The successful completion of this project, the professionalism of our contractor team and the subsequent client satisfaction resulted in an additional rest to repeat this modification on a subsequent aircraft several months after the first was completed. In addition, we were also able to offer the same team/work package to several other MRO clients who were performing the same modification.

A Corporate Responsible Service

Rising to the challenge of a crisis is nothing new to organisations within the aviation and aerospace industry however, the impact of COVID-19 on our sector has been tremendous. The actions that businesses take during these times are crucial resulting in clients adapting and adjusting to the new environment. During the last crisis, the traffic decreased on average 40%, with low expectations of an immediate recovery. These circumstances led to the unfortunate journey of companies having to make difficult decisions to maintain the core of the business and remain in the air. A client of ours, a known operator had to make a big adjustment in Spain and made the decision to move staff to other offices in Europe. Management was aware of the complexities of relocating all staff during these testing times, therefore they wanted to support them by having an Outplacement programme in place during this transition. The client approached several companies for an outplacement programme however they were not searching for a generic solution. Resource Group offers tailored solutions for each client alongside a wide range of services that are adapted to your budget and needs. We were able to provide a solution that was driven by years of industry knowledge, which highlighted our understanding of roles within aviation and how to support employees to find employment during a high-stress situation. The outplacement scheme was programmed for six months, which would enable us to work together with the client and identify job opportunities in the market. Within the first few weeks, most of the non-relocated staff were supported to find another opportunity. Feedback from enrolled personnel was that the humanist treatment and empathy throughout the process enabled them to have the confidence and enthusiasm to choose the best options available to them and have a plan in place during their new job.

Optimisation of the Recruitment Budget

With a wealth of expertise in aviation-based human resources, our complete range of HR services provides our clients with the right services to achieve strategic goals in employee satisfaction, retention, and development, whilst reducing fixed HR costs. At various points, we would work with one of our regular clients to recruit specific roles for them. Their HR department was saturated and struggled with capacity, therefore they relied on us when needed. The client kept growing but the department was structured in a way that all employees were involved in all fronts of the recruitment and resourcing process. Therefore, the team was not specialised in key areas which could result in further success. Within one of the requests, we explained to the client that their current approach was not cost-effective and by outsourcing all recruitment on a fixed fee and a pay-for-use basis it would be much cheaper for them with better results. We are known as experts in meeting client expectations, and we have the global presence to identify candidates who best match the client and work requirements and who are motivated to maintain their performance with a lifetime commitment. With our ability to offer a full suite of recruitment services, we entered a contract with the client which was reviewed on a quarterly basis and adapted to suit their operations and recruitment activities.

TAG Compliant Payroll – Ireland

With 40 years of accumulated experience in providing -payroll and employment solutions to our clients, Resource Group is proud to have a Blue Chip list of clients for whom we employ and manage flight crew. TAG Aviation is one such client, who we have worked on a full-time basis for 15 years. In 2019, TAG Aviation (UK) Ltd. was requested to take on the management of an Irish-based private jet. One of the stipulations was that the Irish-based crew were also to be engaged, in a compliant and ‘in country’ way, essentially as the aircraft would be based and operate out of Ireland.  This means adhering to all the Employment, Tax and Social Insurance requirements that an Irish-based company would have to provide as the Employer in Ireland. TAG Aviation turned to Resource Group to assist. Resource Group is able to set up compliant employment management and payrolls in jurisdictions where our clients are either unable to, or simply where it is financially unviable to do so, as we already have the infrastructure in place to be able to set up and run at a much reduced cost -base. Also, due to our unparalleled experience in managing such multi -jurisdiction requirements, TAG immediately benefits from, in effect, having an already ‘mature’ employment process in country, meaning that they will not face many of the ‘hidden’ issues that are common for Companies when setting up in a new country. With our current registration as a legal employer in Ireland, and a payroll system that is able to adhere to all State tax, social insurance and pension contributory schemes (including the ability to be able to transfer the current crew seamlessly from their current Irish employer), TAG was able to complete the transfer of the Aircraft Management Contract within days, without any worries of the problems of employment of the crew.A major win for all sides.
