MARITIME CONSULTANCY MANAGER

From Resource Group we are currently looking for a Maritime Consultancy Manager to be based in Dubai, UAE with one of main clients.

About the role

The Maritime Consultancy Manager will be part of one of the top global transport and infrastructure consulting companies, guiding and advising leading maritime freight transport operators in business development, market analysis, traffic, commerce, finances and operations.

You will become part of a global organization offering deep expertise and strategic insights to clients in a multi-disciplinary working environment made up of inspiring people with skills ranging from technical experts to strategic thinkers.

This is a great development opportunity for a bilingual consultant (English and any other language) with 4 - 6 years of experience in similar tasks within the maritime industry.

Responsibilities

Client focal point - Maritime.

  • Advise the client along the project providing technical support across all disciplines: strategy, pricing, benchmarking, market analysis, maritime traffic; regulations; support in transactions, documentary requirements, etc.
  • Communicate progress, operational difficulties, variations, and costs of the contract to the customer.
  • Ensure that all client expectations are delivered.
  • Follow up customer enquiries and demands promptly.
  • Develop a plan to engage, organize and support a team of 2 - 3 consultants, managing responsibilities, tasks, workload and delegating when needed.
  • Communicate team goals and promote high standards and customer service.
  • Manage reports and KPI’s, implementing corrective actions when deviations are detected.
  • Ensure deliverables on time and budget.
  •  Attend project meetings.

Skills & Experience

  • University Degree such as Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • Highly valuated master’s degree, MIM or MBA.
  • 4 - 6 years of experience in Consultancy, ideally the Ports and Maritime industry for both public sector clients (national, regional, municipal governments and multilateral organizations) and for the private sector (terminal operators, shipping lines or investment funds)
  • Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).
  • Multi-lingual ability is highly valued.
  • Customer orientation with ability to understand client’s needs and translate these into a commercial proposal
  • Ability to manage heavy workload and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Skilled in team management.
  • Communicative and team player.
  • Full availability to travel.

 

Conditions

  • Base: Dubai (no remote work).
  • Contract period: three (3) years renewable with a six (6) months’ probation period.
  • Monthly remuneration in accordance with experience.
